Boca de inferno
Boca de Inferno, or Hells mouth, is located a few kilometres to the south of São Tomé. This is a natural phenomenon caused by waves finding their way into a narrow ravine that leads to a cave with a hole in the roof. The water then builds up to be forced up through the hole to create a cascade of water that shoots up into the air. A highly dramatic scene is created when the huge waves strike against the black rocks.
